How to inspire people by Architecture?!!!
This project is a kind of social experiment to see how architecture influence people's traditional ideas about built environment. The two most critical elements where the indoor - outdoor relationship and the approach to the River.
The project needed to be a minimalist in order to allow the landscape define the architecture. At the same time, the river became visually the central peace of the project, but also physically approachable and safe to engage, walk to, swim into it. This wild river was tamed by the architecture to become part of it, and welcomed when its water rises to cover part of the landscape.
All that is done with design that take considerations of environmental and social context.
Local and traditional architecture has always been a defensive form against harsh environment and strict social norms.
The use of minimalist modern architecture forms is not only appropriate to the site, but created a project that is more in contrast to local building norms. This made the project even more inspirational to visitors, but more exciting to the residence: Sun and wind redefine the context continually with dramatic cloudy sky and silvery or blue waters rushing under the house as if one is in a sailing ship. The large glass facades open to the river allows vast viewing vistas. These views were liberating and relaxing.
